This special edition condenses the original 51-episode arc into a more streamlined 21 episodes, enhancing the visual quality and pacing. With updated animation techniques and sharper character designs, the remaster aims to provide a contemporary viewing experience that aligns with the high standards of more recent arcs like Wano and Egghead Island.

The remaster not only focuses on improved visuals but also features new opening and ending themes, including "We Go!" by Hiroshi Kitadani and "Sailing" by BE:FIRST. This project is part of Toei Animation's strategy to engage fans during a hiatus in the main series, which will return with the Egghead Island arc in April 2025. By reimagining this pivotal part of the One Piece saga, the remaster seeks to attract both longtime fans and newcomers, celebrating the legacy of the series while addressing past criticisms.
